Summary
Jesus was then delivered to Pilate by the high priest in order to have him tried for treason. The Sanhedrin held the trial at night because not everyone would be able to attend the trial and the people who could defend Jesus would not be able to attend. When Jesus was being questioned by Pilate he asked “Are you the king of the Jews” Jesus then responded “You have said so” (Mk 15:2-3) the chief priest then went on to say that Jesus was guilty of many things. The council decided Barabbas a Jew who was in jail should be released because it was a Passover tradition. The Pilate agreed with them and question what he should do with Jesus, the crowd responded “Crucify him”(Mk 15:13) Pilate was afraid if he did not agree with them the crowd would go to Caesar and report him, so Pilate gave in. The soldiers then removed Jesus from the court stripped him of his clothes and spat on him and then put purple ropes on him and beat him. After they were done the handed him over to be crucified.

Similarity #1
A similarity in each of the four Gospels is that Pilate asks the crowd if they would rather have Jesus or Barabbas, a common criminal, released as custom during Passover. The crowd wanted Barabbas released instead of Jesus. Pilate went along with the demand "Then they all cried out repeatedly saying: Not this one, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber." (Jn 18:40)
Similarity #2
A similarity is that in all four gospels Jesus is asked if he is the "King of the Jews". In all four gospel accounts of the Trial before Pilate in Matthew, Mark, and Luke's gospel he replies with "You say so" and in John's gospel he replies with "You say I am a king, for this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice." (Jn 18:37)
Unique Point #1
A unique point is that in John, the Sanhedrin says that they cannot put anyone to death because they don't have the power to do some. Therefore, Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves and judge him according to your own law." then the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to execute anyone."
Unique Point #2
A unique point is in Matthew 27: 5. It is the story of Judas killing himself in regret after turning in Jesus to the high priests. Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver from the chief priests and elders to go against Jesus. Judas returned the money by flinging it into the temple and then after that he hanged himself. The Sanhedrin refused to take the money back saying it was blood money. The money was then used to buy a field to bury strangers "Flinging the money into the temple, he departed and went off and hanged himself." (Mt 27:5)
